Health in Sweden
Health in Sweden is characterized by a well-developed healthcare system, a strong emphasis on preventive care, and good health outcomes. Here are some key points regarding health in Sweden:
Healthcare System: Sweden has a universal healthcare system that provides comprehensive medical care to all citizens and residents. The system is primarily funded through taxes and is managed by the county councils and regions. The government sets policies and regulations, and the Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs oversees the healthcare sector.
Primary and Specialized Care: Primary healthcare services in Sweden are primarily provided by general practitioners (GPs) or family doctors, known as “vårdcentralen.” They offer preventive care, diagnose and treat common illnesses, and refer patients to specialists when needed. Specialized care is available through hospitals and specialized clinics, where medical specialists provide advanced diagnostic, treatment, and surgical services.
Hospitals and Emergency Care: Sweden has a network of public hospitals that provide comprehensive healthcare services, including emergency care. Emergency departments are available in hospitals to handle acute medical conditions and emergencies. Emergency medical services (EMS) are well-developed and provide quick access to emergency care throughout the country.
Preventive Care and Public Health Initiatives: Preventive care and public health initiatives play a vital role in Sweden’s healthcare system. Regular health screenings, vaccinations, and health promotion campaigns are conducted to detect diseases early and promote healthy behaviors. The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare is responsible for public health programs and policies.
Health Indicators: Sweden generally has good health indicators. Life expectancy at birth is high, averaging around 81 years for men and 84 years for women. Infant mortality rates are low, and child vaccination rates are high. Sweden has made progress in reducing mortality from cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and other major causes of death.
Challenges and Future Plans: Despite its well-regarded healthcare system, Sweden faces challenges such as increasing healthcare costs, an aging population, and the need to address health inequalities among different socioeconomic groups. Efforts are being made to improve access to care, enhance patient-centered care, and invest in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.

Purpose and Role of Insurance Supervisory Colleges
Supervisory colleges are an important tool to allow for more effective and efficient supervision of international insurer groups or international insurers conglomerates (“groups”). Colleges aim to strengthen the quality and intensity of supervisory oversight at two levels: the group as a whole and at solo level.
Colleges provide a permanent and flexible forum for cooperation and coordination among the authorities of different jurisdictions responsible for the supervision of groups. They should facilitate the handling of ongoing supervision and should also play a role in both the preparation and handling of emergency situations.
In particular, supervisory colleges aim at facilitating an exchange of information, views and assessments among supervisors, and cooperation between home and host supervisory authorities. They also enhance the mutual trust and appreciation of needs and responsibilities on which effective supervisory relationships and personal networks between supervisors are built. Supervisory colleges, however, do not affect the rights and responsibilities of the competent authorities which are subject to the existing legal framework of the jurisdictions participating colleges.
FINMA as group supervisor
FINMA is committed to a multidisciplinary, proactive and result-oriented approach to group supervision. 2.1 Setting up and structuring FINMA insurance supervisory colleges As prescribed in the Financial Market Supervision Act (FINMASA) [cf. Article 6 para. 2] and in line with its strategic goal of strengthening cooperation with foreign authorities, FINMA sets up and chairs supervisory colleges (FINMA supervisory colleges) where FINMA is the responsible group supervisor of an insurer group with international activities. FINMA is to liaise with the authorities responsible for the supervision of relevant group entities.
To operate effectively and efficiently, a college’s organizational structure has to be proportionate to the nature, scale and complexity of the risks inherent in a group. It should also reflect the needs of the supervisors involved in its supervision. To meet these objectives,
FINMA may establish several settings, e.g. “Regional college” or “global college”, or establish specialized teams for certain work streams within supervisory colleges, where the effective and efficient functioning of the college requires so. FINMA supervisory colleges are in place for the following insurance groups:
Zurich Financial Services Swiss Reinsurance Company Baloise-Holding Nationale Suisse Helvetia Holding AG Swiss Life Holding. From FINMA

The healthcare system is managed by the National Health Insurance Fund (RFZO), which covers all citizens and permanent residents.
All employees, self-employed persons, and pensioners must pay contributions to it. Contributions are based on a sliding scale, with wealthier members of society paying higher percentages of their income.
Despite this, corruption still remains a serious problem due to low salaries, with many doctors demanding bribes in exchange for better treatment, although there is a major campaign against corruption from the government and NGOs.
As of 2014, the expenditure on health care in this country was 10.37% of GDP in 2014, US$1,312 per capita.
Also, as of 2014, Serbia had 308 doctors per 100,000 people (360 per 100,000 people was European Union (EU) average), 628 non-doctoral medical staff per 100,000 people (1,199 per 100,000 people was EU average).

In terms of the availability of medical equipment, this nation is slightly trailing behind the average of EU countries.

Health in Romania
Romania has a mixed healthcare system consisting of both public and private healthcare providers. The Ministry of Health is responsible for overseeing the health care system in the country.
Here are some key points about health in Romania:
Universal Healthcare: Romania has a universal health care system, which means that all citizens and legal residents are entitled to receive medical care. The system is funded through mandatory health insurance contributions from employees and employers.
Healthcare Infrastructure: Romania has a network of hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities spread across the country. However, the quality and availability of health care services may vary between urban and rural areas.
Public and Private Sector: The healthcare system in Romania includes both public and private sector providers. Public hospitals and clinics provide medical services at subsidized rates, while private healthcare facilities offer services at market prices.
Health Insurance: All Romanian citizens and legal residents are required to have health insurance coverage. The National Health Insurance Fund (CNAS) manages the mandatory health insurance system. Contributions are deducted from salaries, and certain vulnerable groups are exempt from paying these contributions.
Challenges: The Romanian healthcare system faces several challenges, including underfunding, shortage of medical personnel, and disparities in health care access between urban and rural areas. These challenges can sometimes result in longer waiting times for certain medical procedures or limited access to specialized health care services.
Recent Reforms: The Romanian government has implemented various reforms in recent years to improve the healthcare system. Efforts have been made to increase funding, enhance the quality of care, and improve the infrastructure of healthcare facilities.

Discover an insurer’s financial stability. Financial soundness ratings of an insurer can be researched on websites of companies like A.M.Best, Standard & Poor’s, Mood’s and Fitch. While most of the major insurers are safe bets, this is especially helpful when considering smaller, less-known providers.
4- Client Service and Claims Support. Check customer complaint ratios. Many services on insurers websites publish customer complaint ratios for insurance providers. The consumer complaint ratio indicates the number of complaints received by an insurer for each 1,000 claims submitted by its policyholders. It is also a good idea to check the complaint ratios of a company in several other countries, because a company could have good ratings in one, but not-so-large ratings in another. For more protection, look for firms with low consumer complaint ratios across a variety of countries. Locate the insurer you trust

Health care in Poland
Health care in Poland is Insurance based and is delivered through a publicly funded health care system called the Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia, which is free for all the citizens of Poland provided they fall into the “insured” category (usually meaning that they have their health insurance paid for by their employer, or are the spouse or child of an insured person). According to Article 68 of the Polish Constitution everyone has a right to have access to health care. Citizens are granted equal access to the publicly funded healthcare system. In particular, the government is obliged to provide free health care to young children, pregnant women, disabled people, and the elderly. However, private healthcare use is very extensive in Poland. Patients who are uninsured have to pay the full cost of medical services. According to a study conducted by CBOS in 2016, out of 84% patients taking part in the survey, 40% declared use of both private and public health services, 37% use only public health care, and 7% use only private health services. 77% of all responders declared using private health care is caused by long waiting for public health care services.

How Much Insurance Do You Need?
Evaluating Your Home and Personal Property
The first step in determining how much coverage you will need is to make an analysis of the value of your home (excluding the value of the land) and your personal property within it. In determining the value of your home, you must calculate how much it will cost to replace it if your home were totally destroyed.
You can enlist the help of your assurance agent in determining this figure. In fact, most insurers perform a physical inspection of your home when they first ensure it. Using formulas that take into account whether your home is of brick or wood frame construction, total area, number of floors, number of rooms, etc., the company will be able to give you an accurate replacement cost value.
In addition, you may get an estimate from a contractor at your own expense. There is also services available online that can help you estimate the replacement value of your home.
Determining the value of your personal property will require an extensive analysis on your part. You should go through each room of your house and list every piece of furniture and fixture within it. Some insurers provide Household Inventory Schedules which can be quite helpful with this task.
Items such as sofas, tables, beds, TVs, refrigerators, and lawn mowers would be included in such a schedule.
As you compile your inventory you should supplement it with receipts indicating the purchase price and date of purchase and photographs of major items. Your inventory should be updated on an annual basis, or at the very least, whenever you purchase a large appliance or item of furniture.
Some people periodically make a video of all their possessions. If you do, make sure all the drawers and/or doors of your furniture are open so you have a record of what is stored.
It would also be helpful if you are able to verbally describe major items on the video. When complete, you should make a backup and store your inventory list or video a safe place away from your home, such as your safe deposit box. You might also want to store this information in the home of a friend or relative or in your workplace.
